1836 battle of the Texas Revolution for independence from Mexico in which Santa Anna captured The Alamo (a fortified mission in San Antonio); about 200 Texans were killed including Davy Crockett and Jim Bowie; Texans went on to win the war with the battle cry "Remember the Alamo"
