Parish had some questions about the infield fly rule.

  baseball:  a rule to prevent the infield from intentionally dropping a ball to force an error:

When runners are on 1st and 2nd, with less than 2 outs, if the umpire judges a ball catchable by an infielder with ordinary effort, the batter is automatically declared out as though the ball were caught.
