Relativity theory views space and time as relative concepts rather than absolute concepts and sees space as curved. It is sometimes summarized as e=mc2 (energy = mass times the speed of light squared).

Relativity results in some counterintuitive conclusions accepted by virtually all physicists. For example, an object that is traveling at a speed that approaches the speed of light, would measure time more quickly, and would measured shorter in the direction of motion. Also, gravity bends space.

Einstein also proposed that light consists of discrete quantized bundles of energy (later called photons).
