aspirin acetylsalicylic acid
Notes:
Aspirin is sold under the trade names of Bayer, Ecotrin, Ascriptin and also called acetylsalicylic acid.

It is a NSAID (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medicine).

Not recommended for children under 12 years of age due to an apparent correlation between aspirin use and Reye’s syndrome. Aspirin’s primary undesirable side-effects (especially in high doses) are gastrointestinal distress (including ulcers and stomach bleeding) and tinnitus. Another side-effect, is increased bleeding in menstruating women.
