Concept Mastery:  Land between the Tropic of Cancer and the Arctic Circle is called the northern temperate zone. Land between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn is called the tropics.

By definition, variations in the earth’s tilt change the exact location of the Tropic of Cancer, but it is generally thought of as about 23.5 N.
