disclaimer disclaimers
Strongly Associated with:   disclaim
Disclaimers are often seen in product packaging and in consumer contracts where manufacturers attempt to use them to limit their liability. However, many disclaimers can be overturned by the law. For example, if a cell phone package says the manufacturer is not responsible for damage caused by the cell phone, the court would still likely hold the manufacturer responsible if the cell phone blew up and started a fire.
