mnemonic mnemonics
Mnemonics are usually verbal — such as "Spring forward, Fall back" to remember how to change the clock for daylight savings time. In the Spring, the clock is moved forward an hour and in the Fall, it is moved back an hour.

Note that the leading "m" is silent.
