  1. The Extra Credit quizzes can also be assigned for academically motivated students.
  2. Ten words can be assigned for each third of the book rather than doing a single post-reading quiz for the entire book.  (details)
  3. Students can be given extra points for using their words in writing assignments or finding examples in the local newspaper or media.
  4. Students can review vocabulary from a book previously read. (perhaps for extra credit)
  5. Teachers can assign either the pre-reading or post-reading assignment instead of both.
  6. Teachers can hand out copies of the Printer-Friendly Study Sheet and let students write their own sample sentences without requiring use of a computer. (details)
