importance or relevance

The expression, "of little consequence", means that something is unimportant.

"Consequential" is also sometimes used in place of "consequent" to says that something followed from something else. In classic literature, it is frequently used to refer to someone with too much feeling of self-importance as when Dickens wrote "Because he’s a proud, haughty, consequential, turned-up-nosed peacock."
