Yoke is pronounced the same as yolk (the yellow part of an egg).

Yoke, as defined here, is a figurative sense of a more literal meaning; i.e., of a wooden frame used to carry loads or to join beasts of burden. More rarely, yoke describes a connected pair as in "a yoke of oxen". See a comprehensive dictionary for less common senses of the word.
