domestic — as in:  the domestic market

relating to a home country

or (much more rarely,): relating to a geographic area that is smaller than a country
domestic — as in:  domestic happiness

domestic animal — as in:  a domestic animal like a dog

referring to animals kept as pets or for ranching
gross domestic product (GDP) — as in:  GDP of the United States

the total value of goods and services produced by a nation (or territory) in a year

Domestics refers to a household servants. (Rarely, domestic refers to a single household servant.)
