Closely related, but less common senses of the word include:
- to speak distinctly — as in "After the stroke, she had to learn to articulate her consonants."
- to say aloud — as in "She articulated what everyone was thinking."
Less common senses that are not closely related concern joints:
- formed with joints to allow movement — as in "The articulated bus can be longer without requiring a wider turning radius."
- movement at a joint — as in "Can she fully articulate the joint?"
