How to Change the Header or Footer Your Browser Prints
The browser on your computer typically prints a header and footer on each page it prints. If you're printing a page to use for a classroom test, you might prefer to eliminate or change the header and footer. These instructions explain how to do that for popular browsers.

Chrome 32: (Can eliminate, but not change headers/footers)
  1. When you ask to print it will bring up a list of printer options on the left.
  2. Uncheck Print headers and footers
Safari 7: (On Mac compters, you can eliminate, but not change headers/footers. On iPad*, iPhone, and Windows, we think this isn't supported.)
  1. Choose File-->Print
  2. If you don't see the Print headers and footers option, press Show Details
  3. Uncheck Print headers and footers
Internet Explorer 11:
  1. Press Alt+f (Alt at the same time as f) to open the file menu
  2. Choose Page Setup
  3. Change or empty the contents of what is printed in the header and the footer
  4. Click the OK button
  5. There is no Restore Defaults button, so if you want to restore default behavior after your print job, change the header left, middle, and right to Title, -Empty-, Page # of total pages; and the footer to URL, -Empty-, Date in short format.
Firefox 26:
  1. Press Alt+f (Alt at the same time as f) to open the file menu
  2. Choose Page Setup
  3. Choose the Margins & Header/Footer tab
  4. Change or empty the contents of what is printed in the header and the footer
  5. Click the OK button
  6. There is no Restore Defaults button, so if you want to restore default behavior after your print job, change the header left, middle, and right to Title, --blank--, URL; and the footer to Page # of #, --blank--, Date/Time.
If your browser isn't listed above, you can find instructions by searching the Internet for your browser's name and version with something like "eliminate header and footer".

*As of this writing (1/14), the iPad and iPhone do not have versions of Safari. They just have an iOS version which can be seen under Settings->General->About.
